Unit 1: How stewards control the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events.
Within this unit your employees will learn about the principles of controlling the entry, movement and exit of people at spectator events, as well as how to recognise and respond to illegal and prohibited items. Learners will also discover how to help spectators with problems, as well as how to deal with challenging behaviour they may encounter.
Unit 2: How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events.
This unit will give your employees an in-depth look into recognising and responding to crowds problems, as well as how to deal with illegal and unsociable behaviour at events.
Unit 3: How stewards prepare for spectator events.
In this unit your employees will explore the roles and responsibilities of stewards at spectator events. They will also consider how to prepare for events, including checking a venue for hazards.
Unit 4: How to respond to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learning .
Throughout this unit your employees will discover how to respond when dealing with illnesses and injuries in a ‘first-on-scene’ basis. Learners will also consider the appropriate responses when dealing with other emergencies such as missing persons, fire and security alerts.
Unit 5: Understand how effective teams work.
Within this unit your employees will discover what makes a team successful, how to identify potential barriers to successful team working, and ways in which these can be overcome to ensure they work together effectively.
Unit 6: Health and safety in a work environment.
Here your employees will consider current health and safety legislation, including the procedures and equipment they may need to use when dealing with an emergency. They will also learn to identify hazards and risks in a workplace, and about the responsibilities of both the employer and employee in relation to health and safety.
Unit 7: Fire safety principles.
This unit will give your employees a thorough understanding of the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace, including the misuse of pyrotechnics. They will also consider how to control fire risk, and the principles and practice of managing fire safety.
Unit 8: Safeguarding children and vulnerable people at spectator events.
In this final unit your employees will consider different types of vulnerable groups and the policies that are in place to protect children and vulnerable people. They will also explore in-depth information regarding safeguarding, and understand when and who to report incidents to.
